About Wicca:

What is Wicca?

Wicca has often been defined as a strictly female magick and too frequently painted by the media as a mysterious and dark form of religious practice. I challenge you to consider a different perspective by which to redefine this empowering and healing path of light work.

This lineage was born of the core philosophy from which all shamanic paths originated, and stays true to its roots.

Wicca is the recognition, honor and ability to flow creative healing energy with the earth, sky, sea, and all beings sharing these energies. It is in living awareness, appreciation and non-judgment of all these thing and beings, coming to know oneself, learning to flow energy and being at peace within.   Both men and women can be a part of this magickal path!

Why study Wicca?

Wicca offers powerful teachings to bring about a deeper connection with the Mother Earth, Father Sky and their sacred teachings! Designed for curious individuals or lifelong students, these workshops support and deepen the understanding of Wicca in an interactive and grounded environment.

These classes and workshops bring greater ability to create in the world by providing fundamental training and keys to powerful secrets regarding the elements, elementals and our relationship with them.

What is the difference between being a Witch and a Wiccan?

Witches practice magick.  For thousands of years it had no name, but was simply a shamanic way of life most often associated with circles of women.  As the nurturers, midwives, teachers, gardeners, cooks, house-keepers, healers and mothers, women’s work fell neatly into our concepts of Wicca.  Honoring the land and its many fruits, knowing the cycles of the earth, moon and stars, understanding the cycles of life and death, bearing and raising children are all part of the natural world, and traditionally the mysteries and responsibilities of the woman.

So, what is magick?  In Wicca, we define it as creating something out of nothing, or creating something from something else.  A simple example might be putting tomatoes, basil, salt and oregano into a pot, simmering the ingredients together over fire, and creating marinara sauce.  It is alchemy and an active understanding and flow of the elements!  Magick!

Today, a Witch is most often defined as one who practices Witchcraft or Wicca. This term refers to both men and women.  There are many schools of thought as to the difference between a Witch and a Wiccan.  In our tradition, I offer this distinction:

A Witch practices magick, fully aware of doing so.  She or he may do so independently (a solitary practitioner) or with a coven (a group of like-minded practitioners).  This individual has pursued training and received certain levels of formal initiation in the physical from a formally trained and authorized High Priestess or High Priest.

A Wiccan is one who is deeply committed to the magickal path and work.  She or he has an in-depth working knowledge of each of the five elements and is adept at working with each of them both intellectually and practically.  This individual has stepped onto the path of the magickian and continues to seek training with Master Teachers to gain deeper knowledge and understanding while also studying independently with the Goddess and the Elementals.

A Wiccan seeks to restore and flow balance and harmony between the vibrations of Woman and Man.  The union and flow of energy between Goddess and God.  This can only be done through mastery of the flow of energy through the elements!

A student of Wicca lives life honoring the land and all beings on it.  She or he builds relationships with the earth and her many magickal beings, living abundant, compassionate and joyful in a present and empowered state of creation!

Is Wicca spiritual or religious?

Wicca is a spiritual approach to living.  It is a heightened state of awareness, empowerment, compassion and light.  A coven’s work is to bring joy and healing to its community through its participants!

Many American sects identify Wicca as a religious practice.  Religion is the human’s way of defining parameters to make the concepts of worship more tangible and “organized.”  The concepts of worship are far simpler than the laws of man, especially when it comes to religious doctrines.  Upon leaving Eden, Adam and Eve asked the God and Goddess, “How will we remember you?”  They responded, “By honoring all that is around you.  For in all things, we exist.  In honoring the earth and the beings sharing it, you honor us.  And you will remember.”

Wicca helps us remember our connection to God and Goddess through nature and through one another.  There is no formal way to do this.  It is in every act, word, thought and breath that we honor, we worship and we remember.  Coming together needs not to be a religious experience with the dogmatic and organized approach to worship.  It is a spiritual gathering of those who share a desire to remember and live honoring the truth therein.

These principles have been adopted by many different individuals and groups, gathering to build energy for creation of a common desire.  Religion or not, Wicca is a powerful spiritual and shamanic practice for living.

What makes this Wicca program different from others?

The lineage through which this program is offered is a vital part of uniqueness and power of this training.  Within lineage is power and authority.  Without lineage, magick can certainly exist, but its keys are missing.  The deep understanding of the secrets as handed down from teacher to student are lost in missing years or through the introduction of dogmatic principles.

Wicca was born when the earth was born, with the first beings who honored her.  Our unbroken line is thousands of years old, predating “modern” Wicca and traversing to a time pre-dating human participation on this ancient planet.  Originating with the much misunderstood Goddess, Lilith, this tradition is deeply interwoven with the oldest European teachings, holding the keys, the powerful secrets handed down only through the old oral traditions, to empower today’s Witch in work and life by truly providing the knowledge and building the relationships necessary to do REAL magick!

Describe your course of study:

Our interactive workshops are designed to teach each individual enough to go out into the world and create magick!  Presented according to a specific elemental vibration, each one offers the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the concepts behind the magick.  Deeply integrated is the hands-on approach to experiencing the element and creating powerful, individual tools to use in life immediately.  In addition, the student is provided with enough information and “homework” to expand the knowledge and understanding to go as deep as she or he desires.

Although workshops are spread over the course of 18 months, Wicca is a lifetime study that begins before and continues after any sort of formal training.  The development of psychic and healing gifts as well as awakening to life itself and letting go of old wounds and concepts which stop our ability to do magick takes practice.  It is truly living the work, incorporating knowledge, skills and relationships built over time, creating an intentional and magickal life and bringing light to the world.

In addition to scheduled workshops, interested students may apply for an apprenticeship to delve into even more involved, hands-on approach training.
